So, how much does a GoPro weigh? In this guide, we’ll compare the weight and size of the 16 most recent GoPro models. We cover every model from the current Hero12 and Max back to the Hero4 (released back in 2014).

GoPro Weight Comparison Chart
Compare the weight and size of every GoPro model since 2014. Now you can decide which model is the right one for your adventure.
The weight and dimensions are based on the bare camera – without the protective housing.
Every model below is waterproof without additional housing (with the exception of Hero4 Black and Silver). The listed weights also include the weight of a battery and microSD card installed.
I’ve included the recently released Hero10 Black Bones – the stripped-down version for FPV drones. They’ve removed all extra features and reduced the weight by two-thirds.
The dimensions below are width x height x depth (W x H x D).

Why Does GoPro Weight Matter?
There are a few reasons to be concerned about the weight of your GoPro.
If you are trying to decide between a GoPro or an alternative weight is a worthy consideration. And even if choosing between the different models – a weight difference can matter – depending on the application.
Some cameras can be more than double the weight of other GoPros. This matters if you are mounting it on your helmet or backpack. Or at the end of a long selfie stick.
Is lighter always better? It depends. Sometimes a heavier camera will mean that you have a larger, longer-lasting battery. But generally speaking, I prefer a lighter unit.
GoPro cameras have a small image sensor size helping keep them small and lightweight.
