GoPro Max uses the ACBAT-001 battery. It has a capacity of 1600mAh.

How long does GoPro Max battery last?
You can get about 1.5 hours of filming from your GoPro Max. Factors that affect battery life include video resolution, dual or single lens, and temperature.

The battery is good for about 85 minutes of 360-degree recording, or 105 minutes of single-lens, 1080p (16:9) or 1440p (4:3) video.

Is the GoPro Max Battery different?
GoPro Max battery has less capacity than its predecessor, the GoPro Fusion.
- GoPro Max: 1600mAh
- GoPro Fusion: 2620mAh
And while the capacity is less in the Max, its battery life is almost identical to the Fusion.
The smaller Max battery design allows the camera to be noticeably smaller than the Fusion. The camera reduced in weight from 220g (Fusion) to just 154g (Max).
Does the GoPro Max have a removable battery?
The GoPro Max battery is removable. This is a great feature because it allows users to use one battery while charging the other. This way, you can shoot all day and not run out of power.
How long does it take to charge a GoPro Max?
It can take 2 hours to charge a GoPro Max battery when sufficiently powered.
Recommended charging voltage is 5V 2A output.
What kind of charger does a GoPro Max use?
GoPro Max uses a USB-C cable for charging. This is consistent among all GoPro cameras since the Hero5 series.

Does GoPro Max come with battery charger?
GoPro Max does not ship with an external battery charger. It does ship with a USB-C cable that you can use to charge the battery in the camera.
There are numerous aftermarket chargers for GoPro Max batteries.
- GoPro makes a dual battery charger, and it ships with an additional battery.
- Wasabi also makes an external triple charger. This kit comes with two additional batteries both with 1440 mAh capacity.
How do I know if GoPro Max is charging?
Watch for the light to indicate charging. Watch for a red LED light to indicate charging (in-camera). The red light will turn off to indicate charging is complete.
If charging with an external charger, the indicator light color will vary.

Does GoPro Max use same battery as Hero8?
While this would be a nice feature, GoPro Max battery is not the same as the Hero8 camera. In fact, the Max battery doesn’t match any other GoPro model.
