More About Bryan and Dena

Bryan and I met in 1997. We became friends, fell in love, and got married in 1999. Drew (our daughter) was born a year and a half later.

Back in 2009, we did something kind of crazy. We sold our house and almost everything we owned (including our advertising agency) and moved from Canada to Ecuador. We wanted to move where the cost of living was lower, so we could work less and have more time with our daughter as she grew up.

We love to travel, and always wanted to experience a different culture and learn a new language. We wanted the same for our daughter, so off we went. We spent six years there and loved it!

While living in Ecuador, we created a blog called GringosAbroad (now Storyteller.Travel). It became the largest English site about Ecuador in the world.

We write about travel, the expat experience, and the culture. When we started we didn’t really anticipate what an engaged group of friends we would meet, it’s so fun!

We also created and managed the content marketing program for a client with hotels on three Galapagos islands.

On our first two trips to the Galapagos, we had a couple of DSLRs and a point-and-shoot camera.

For our third trip, we made sure we had a GoPro. What a difference that made!

We loved using the GoPro. The images we captured were thrilling!
